Oscars Red Carpet Review 2016
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am very into the Oscars. My husband refers to it as "Mommy's Super Bowl," which I would say is fairly accurate. I literally look forward to it all year. I love everything about it; the speeches, the excitement, the honorary awards, and of course, the fashion. The "pre-show" is one of my favorite parts of the night! And this year I was pretty excited to see Chris Rock host. How did all of you think he did? And did you enjoy the show this year? I thought he did a fairly good job, and I must admit, his opening monologue was pretty scathingly funny. But I didn't think the show was very good over all this year. I really miss it when they don't do an honorary achievement award. I love that it usually involves a tribute to a beloved star and that we get to see clips from classic films. I'm such a film buff, so that is something I really enjoy. And I thought it went on waaay too long! And didn't you feel like there was a lack of star wattage? Like where was everyone?! I could've used a few George Clooneys, Angelina Jolies, Brad Pitts, or how about some older, glamorous stars? It was pretty lacking. However, I did love the movies this year (I thought it was an especially good year!) and Spotlight, which won best picture, was one of my favorites. But enough about all those details... how were the dresses???? I must admit that here too, I was a little disappointed. A few people looked good, and no one looked terrible, but there just weren't a lot of drop dead gorgeous dresses. Here were a few of my favorites, in no particular order.
